Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania – Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)
You will be welcomed by the Kilimanjaro trekking Safari guide at Kilimanjaro International Airport which is the best Airport for international flights to Northern Tanzania. its the welcome gateway to wildlife watching and Mountaineering tour to Kilimanjaro National Park with experienced Safari guide.
You will head to the lodge in Moshi for dinner and overnight where the Reservation team from Primate Safari Experiences will orient you and brief you about the entire 14 Days Tanzania Rwanda Safari tour. Your Overnight is booked at Kilimanjaro Mountain Resort.
Day 2: Kilimanjaro Trekking Briefing and Preparation
Breakfast in the morning then proceed for precise briefing about your trek. You shall meet guides, porters and rangers who inform you about Mountain Kilimanjaro, Routes, safety measures and what to expect on your trek/ hike. You shall ensure to check if you have all the necessary gear for the trek. Later on, get back to your lodge/ hotel for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Kilimanjaro Mountain Resort.
Day 3: Drive to Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Breakfast then transfer to the Machame Gate for about 1,5 hours from Moshi Town. On reaching here, you shall be welcomed by the rangers then later start you trek via the Machame Route. Continue on trek while enjoying scenic beauty through challenging terrain. The route elevates to 1,800 meters (5,900 feet). Proceed on ascent through verdant rain forests till you reach Machame Camp. Dinner and Overnight at Machame Camp at 3,000 meters (9,840 feet).
Day 4: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
Today, enjoy breakfast then embark on a trek for about 6 to 7 hours through moorland and heather. The trek takes you through lush green rainforest offering scenic views of the Mountain at a distance till you reach Shira Camp at 3,850 meters (12,600 feet). On reaching here, enjoy meals as well as have Overnight.
Day 5: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp
Breakfast then embark on a trek for a period of 6 to 7 Hours. Continue on ascent towards the Lava Tower (4,600 meters / 15,100 feet) then later descend into the Barranco Valley. Hiking via the Barranco Valley is exciting although quite challenging offering you views of the Barranco Wall which is steep. You shall continue on trek till you reach Barranco Camp at 3,960 meters (13,000 feet).
Day 6: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Breakfast then embark on trek from Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp. The trek takes you a period of 4 to 5 hours with a steep climb up the Barranco Wall which is scenic, very deep requiring you to be physically fit and determined. You shall continue on descent into the Karanga Valley. proceed on trek till you reach the Karanga Camp at 4,035 meters (13,270 feet) for Dinner and Overnight.
Day 7: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (Summit Preparation)
Breakfast then get on trek for about 4 to 5 hours on ascent through alpine desert terrain towards Barafu Camp the base/ resting point before getting to the summit. When you reach here, you shall spend an afternoon resting and preparing for the summit ascent which starts at mid night. Dinner and Overnight at Barafu Camp.
Day 8: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak
Breakfast then relaxation till mid night when the trekking starts. You shall depart at Midnight as you ascend through rocky terrain towards Stella Point (5,756 meters / 18,884 feet). While here, you are at the highest point in Africa. You shall follow through rocky, steep terrain landscapes with torch till you reach the summit as the sun rises in the morning. When you reach the summit, take may photos to keep with you. After taking photos, you shall embark on descent from the summit to Barafu Camp where you briefly rest and later continue to Mweka Camp at 3,100 meters (10,170 feet). Dinner and Overnight at Mweka Camp.
Day 9: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate & Drive Back to Moshi
Breakfast then leave Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate (1,640 meters / 5,380 feet). On reaching Mweka Gate, you are congratulated then connect with other hikers relating on how the hike was then after get into your 4x4 wheel vehicle to transfer back to Moshi. On reaching Moshi, check-in hotel for Dinner and Overnight. Kilimanjaro Mountain Resort.
Day 10: Fly from Tanzania to Rwanda - Kigali International Airport (KGL)
Breakfast in the morning then proceed to the Kilimanjaro International Airport where you board a flight to Rwanda's Kigali International Airport via a connecting flight via Nairobi. On reaching Kigali, you are transferred to check-in lodge/ hotel for Dinner and Overnight. Kigali Serena Hotel.
Day 11: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park (Kigali to Ruhengeri)
Breakfast in the morning then transfer to Ruhengeri District for a period of 2 to 3 hours. On your way, you have beautiful views of the terrain vegetation, rolling hills, bird species, deviating canopies till you reach Musanze Ruhengeri at Volcanoes National Park. On reaching the park, continue to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Sabinyo Silverback lodge.
Day 12: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Gorilla Trekking happens today in Volcanoes National Park. Have early breakfast in the morning then head to the park headquarters at Kinigi where you shall have precise briefing on conduct around the Mountain Gorillas. The trek to find the gorillas in Volcanoes National Park can take anywhere from 1 to 8 hours, depending on where the gorillas are located. The park has several habituated families that you can visit, and you’ll be guided by experienced rangers. Once you meet the Gorillas, an hour is allowed in their presence taking many photos to keep. After trekking the Gorillas, return back to lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Sabinyo Silverback Lodge.
Day 13: Transfer to Kigali City Tour
Breakfast in the morning then transfer to Kigali. The journey takes you a period of 2 to 3 hours with views of the green terrain, bird species. On reaching Kigali, you shall embark on a city tour around Kigali visiting the Genocide Memorials, National Museums and National Market. You shall get to learn about the tragic Genocide in which many Rwandans lost their dear lives.
After the City Tour, you shall go check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Kigali Serena Hotel.
Day 14: Departure to Kigali Airport
Breakfast in the morning then with your luggage embark on departure to the Kigali International Airport to board flight back home.
